Not really. It is pretty dead and STERN is the only remaining manufacturer in the world. But I have a new found interest in it. There is just something about the physicality of the game. You are actually hitting targets with a real ball and real physic come into play. Sure they break a lot and cost a lot and are huge and expensive but I don't care. I want one!

Before I haul off and just lay down 3-4 grand on a machine I would like to play one for a bit. I have been looking for machines to play in Springfield with not much luck. There is one at Brewhaus (Adams Family) and I know there is one at Chuck E. Cheese but I don't remember which one it is.

Does anyone know of any other places in Springfield to play pinball? I have tried a lot of places with no luck.

Here are the two I am considering:

Creature from the Black Lagoon

Star Trek the Next Generation

Anyone else have any good pinball games they know of?

With the Star Trek game, you definitely get more nerd points, along with another flapper, but it does seem like it's just playing more sound clips at random at low levels. The Creature from the Black Lagoon game looks like you "make progress" as you continue to hit the ball in that area on the left. The 2 things that fire the balls on the Star Trek game are definitely cool, too. Tough choice, but I'd say go Star Trek!

Track Shack has one Lone Pinball machine, of-course its a Nascar machine. They Switched it out with Sopranos' Pinball, but Nascar machine we found to be a-lot tougher.

And being Doug I didnt read your entire post or the A.D.D. kicked in I didn't know you were looking for a STERN pinball machine. Or else i prob wouldn't have posted. But Look on the bright side, you dropping 3, 4k on a Machine is a great investment Pinball machines are great collector items, and hold their value well. My aunt in kentucky last time I was there had a Adam's Family pinball machine she doesn't play anymore Ill have to ask if she would be able to part ways with it. Because I might buy it!!! Also ....

From what Ryan told me the Adam's Family one is one of the most desirable.
Also, the Back to the Future one looks bad ass.

Town shuts down pinball hall because pinball was deemed evil in the 1960's

Sweet! Might end up building a MAME machine, more games ect. I saw some great controllers with the ball in the center so you can do bowling or golf. They look pretty simple to build just get a cheap computer nice sound system I got a big 30 inch Tv laying around I could butcher. Might end up building one. But really never seen into an arcade machine.

Track Shack did have one but it was not in the best condition. The NASCAR theme was not that appealing to me though.

I have been so many places looking for pinball and it has been an adventure.

I saw what from a distance appeared to be a Simpsons machine below the food court at the mall yesterday.
