 Re: QuakeCon 2010
I am requesting time off.. who is going this year?
This is the best gaming related event I have been to sofar.. I will only be bringing my laptop since checkin/checkout is horrible and slow.
Plus with all the fun stuff, I didnt do much gaming last time.

 Re: QuakeCon 2010
I might be interested. If I go, I'd definitely fly. Kind of depends on how finances shape up this summer

 Re: QuakeCon 2010
Probably only if I managed to get a good performance laptop in the timeframe.

 Re: QuakeCon 2010
How was the yar'ing. A lot? If I go I'd be taking a laptop and an external drive. I wouldn't plan on doing any actual gaming

 Re: QuakeCon 2010
I used DC+ a decade ago. The days before torrents, you'd get on IRC servers, watch for bots, get file listings from them, then queue up in the DC+ line. It'd often take DAYS before you're 20kb/s 400mb file transfer would even START. It was the worst. But there weren't many other options at the time that were as easily accessible. I can't believe they'd use that at a lan. A properly configured FTP server takes maybe 10 minutes to set up and will allow much easier and faster transferring of files to more then 1 person at a time. /rant Bleh, doubt I'll be that interested in going any way. It's looking more like I'll probably be going to Florida at the end of May so that is going to burn up what free cash I have that would fund a DFW trip. Maybe MML since it doesn't require flying and stuff.
